Fashion and art fit hand in hand, and if anyone knows that, it’s The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Each year in New York City, an event like no other takes place at the met. The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event hosted by the Met’s Costume Institute. Hundreds of celebrities and high society people attend the gala in gowns and suits that fit the theme of the exhibit. For 2016, the theme is “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology”. Here are some of the best looks from the night.
Kendall Jenner: Kendall’s caged blue and white Atelier Versace gown embodied the theme of the night so well. Her hair and makeup was very natural which enhanced the beauty of her gown.
Poppy Delevingne: She always kills it when it comes to dressing for major events. Pulling off a classic look with a twist, Poppy wore Marchesa at the gala this year. The plunging neck line and sheer layers matched with silver jewels and the certain cut made the perfect dress for last night.
Lily Rose Depp: What else but Chanel would Lily Rose wear to the Gala? Karl Lagerfeld designed the most interesting look of the night for Lily to wear, and we loved it! Wearing a cropped gown and a matching bomber jacket, first time and youngest met gala attendee, Lily stood out among tons of celebrities.
Carolina Kurkov: Wearing a sheer, embroidered Marchesa gown, Carolina pulled off a light and girly look for the Gala. IBM collaborated with Marchesa to make this dream dress come true.
Kylie Jenner: Oh the Jenner girls, they just always look great. Kylie wore a sheer, silver Balmain gown to the 2016 Gala and looked amazing. She topped her look off with n angular bob and her classic makeup look.
Liu Wen: Wearing a one of a kind Iris van Herpen gown with silver detailing and a long mesh skirt, Liu’s dress fit perfectly with the theme for the night. This models look was so original and interesting.
Anna Wintour: Host and Queen of the gala, Anna Wintour looked amazing last night. Anna wore a Chanel gown with long tassels and gold embroidery.
