Skincare has always been very important to me. I for sure spend more time working on my skin than applying makeup and I’m kind of a freak about it. Every night I typically do the same routine when getting ready for bed and I love everything about how it makes my skin feel. Here is my nighttime (and extended nighttime) skincare routine.
The first thing I totally have to do each night is take off ALL my makeup. Everything down to the eyeliner on my waterline. First I take off my eye makeup and then wipe off all my face makeup with Neutrogena makeup remover wipes.
The next step to my skincare routine is washing my face. I kind of switch off every other night with which face wash I use depending on how my skin is acting. If I’m breaking out, I will typically use Mario Badescu’s Glycol Foaming Cleanser which really helps my skin clear up. Otherwise, I use Keihl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser for less intense cleanse.
FACE MASKS!!! If you know me, you know the obsession. I use a facial mask at least 4 days a week (which I’m not sure is really healthy, but I’m actually addicted). My current favorite facial masks are either Glam Glow’s YouthMud Mask or Mario Badescu’s Collagen Mask.
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. This is a super important step in my opinion. Moisturizing has so many benefits and so many people ignore it! Using a moisturizer is the best way to keep your skin from drying out and even becoming oily. When skin doest receive the moisture it needs, oil starts to build up in the pores and can lead to breakouts. Moisturizing also maintains the youth of your skin and preps skin for makeup.
I’m terrified of wrinkles (which isn’t normal for a 16 year old girl), so I have to use eye cream each night. My favorite eye cream is Keihl’s Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment because it’s easy to apply and soaks so well into my skin.
My skin is overall pretty kind to me, but if acne becomes a problem it’s an easy fix with Mario Badescu’s Drying Mask treatment. I use this product for any problem spot I get and by two days, its close to gone! This product works like a charm.
Biotin is a vitamin that is great for not only your skin, but your hair and nails as well. After taking Biotin for two weeks I’ve noticed my skin becoming brighter, my hair growing, and even my nails getting stronger!
Hydration is the key to great skin. Drink at least half a liter of water before you fall asleep and you will really start to see a difference.
